#PhoneIsLifeline Campaign
From staying in touch to contact tracing, mobile phones are increasingly becoming an essential need in our daily lives. For migrant workers, who are an integral part of Singapore’s society, the mobile phone is most likely their only device to access essential services, so regarded as a lifeline for them. The COVID-19 pandemic has presented more unforeseen challenges for all, especially for migrant workers.
#PhoneIsLifeline is an initiative by Bridge the Digital Divide, in partnership with TWC2, to drive smartphone donations for migrant workers in dire need.
We believe channelling used phones to benefit needful migrant workers is a worthwhile cause because it not only supports migrant workers who have contributed significantly to Singapore, but reduces e-waste, sustains our circular economy and builds social capital for a more giving Singapore.
